I always thought Italy is the perfect place to experience an energy infrastructure

Italy is the Arabia of renewable energy: "Italy is the Arabia of renewables' Country extraordinarily rich alternative sources. It's the best place to start the third industrial revolution '"

I always thought Italy is the perfect place to experience an energy infrastructure "lattice", based on the principles shipping cartons of network theory, the same can be applied to the Web. Few hub, or a few large-scale conventional power plants, and many plants making use of renewable energy sources (I think in particular to concentrated solar, wind and offshore classic, geothermal energy).
A robust, perhaps managed by a centralized computer system, able for example to create "trails" alternative in the event of a malfunction of the network shipping cartons nodes.
The wind is in Italy, the problem is, as always, that we are a densely populated country, and where there are no people there are to landscape (the classic NIMBY syndrome). From the point of view of wind power is easier to think of offshore installations to avoid bans and protests. Or think of the style of the incentives for photovoltaic energy bill, in order to allow to amortize the investment.
Some time ago I read about a project potentially very interesting, shipping cartons the Kite Wind Generator, a system of high-flying shipping cartons kites (something like 600-800 shipping cartons meters, just to give an idea), shipping cartons commanded shipping cartons from the ground and anchored by the arms to a central body (high precisely few hundred meters) that, thanks to the rotating motion of the kites, puts into operation of the alternators. There is talk of enormous power:
The maximum size reached by a Kite Wind Generator is the object of study of this project, but it seems possible from the first estimates exceed 5.000MW without incurring serious problems of structural strength and with an overall diameter shipping cartons of just over 2,000 meters. It 'important to consider that 5.000MW are the equivalent of 5 typical nuclear power plants, the cost of implementation is 12.5 billion euro. E 'possible to demonstrate that the KiteGen of this size has a cost that is a fraction of that figure.
I only know that in Germany, where I happen shipping cartons to live for almost a year, I saw many more 'solar photovoltaic / thermal in Italy ... but MANY more ... in some areas where I went by train coverage is almost complete ..and ... I do not think that in Germany we have more sunshine than in Italy, although it is true that they say to us is always nice and it rains a lot less than that from them .. (in addition to the statistics that I have but it is not difficult to imagine )
Enel and ENI are doing a lot 'of advertising on using energy more responsibly. Obviously being companies do not do it without having some advantage. Other realities shipping cartons are marketing energy from renewable sources and they are promoting shipping cartons their use. For example: http://www.edisonenergia.it/edison/msp/content/offerta/idea_verde.html http://www.sorgenia.it/Home/Offerta_Elettricita/Offerta/Energia_Pulita/default.htm
I think the problem of greenhouse gas emissions and its containment is now surpassed by reality. The melting ice has begun, this decreases the albedo of the planet and therefore increases the heating; it follows that global warming is now self-perpetuating, melting ice also affects the areas of the planet with permafrost, the permafrost contains greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and methane, the greenhouse effect will increase accordingly regardless of the containment measures, although we could reduce the emission of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere will increase their quantity, that does not excuse those who seek to diminish the effectiveness of an economic conversion to renewable energy sources and raw materials recyclable and eco-friendly. But we must realize by now that global warming has taken a drift inevitable. I would therefore like to propose technical guidelines, so that our species can truly be called Homo Sapiens (instead of Pithecanthropus Technologicus, as currently deserves to be called). The pessimism of reason MUST be accompanied by the optimism of the will and the right intention scientific and professional.
Open meeting points at the popular level, and spread shipping cartons over the territory, capable of transmitting innovations and discoveries of modern science by improving the everyday culture in terms of knowledge of the technological roots in our world (fundamental should be disclosure of the basic concepts of ' evolution, both biological and cosmic, and those of the inherent complexity of ecosystems: l '
